Thanks to the Hydro-therapy pool and the physiotherapists I am now able to utilise my poorly arm which is great as i am now fully in control of the wheelbarrow (well fully may be a little optimistic but well enough), good job with the amount of mucking out there is to do. I am still restricted with the movement but at least progress is being made. The weather is proving to make life a little challenging, one minute green fields, the next white covered in snow and then back to green for a short while before quickly turning to brown fields where they are getting churned up. Whilst i love to watch the youngsters playing in the field i do wish they would consider what a blinking mess they are making..

Blimey its cold out there, but the sunshine is lovely. The horses are looking like teddy bears but it's better than pouring with rain and blowing a hooley. Cayena appears to be besotted with Alan today and is fluttering her eyelashes at him from the other side of the farm track. He thinks it something he needs to tell the world about. Who said it was quiet in the countryside!.

Happy New Year
To say things havent gone quite to plan is a slight understatement. In December I did an unplanned dismount off a horse (not a Spanish Horse) and found out that my landing skills are not what they should be. So a nasty fracture to the arm where it meets my shoulder and a bruised back and ribs set me back a little. I must have looked bad as for the first time in the 15 years Bry and I have been together, he mucked out for me. I now am an expert at mucking out with one hand but i still havent sussed the wheelbarrow. My good arm now looks like a weightlifters and the other is missing muscle altogether. Aside for day to day jobs being a little tricky, I cant drive so have been a bit of a hermit over Christmas.
Fortunately the horses are looking a lot better than i am. With the mild weather the grass has been growing. We did start to feed the mares and foals in the field with haylage but I am not convinced they need it. Apart from looking round, they seem to have plenty of play energy. The haylage if i am honest is a little too good for them but as i am so fussy about it, i cant complain. This year i even sat in the tractor when it was mowed so i know exactly what they are eating and that there definitely no ragwort. I also beg for an extra day of drying to make sure it isnt too wet for horses......i know, i did say i was fussy.
It won't be long now till we start to think of foaling and lambing but for now i will just recover from doing the accounts for the tax year end and continue with my one armed mission to conquer the wheelbarrow. I am looking forward to everyone getting their summer coats and seeing how all the youngsters are coming on once all the hair has fallen out.
